What is a Vamp?

In essence, vamping is playing the same notes over and over again. 

Often a pianist is asked to 'vamp' while a soloist is coming on stage. The vamp fills in time and sounds great.

Dave Paulson has had lots of chance to vamp in his years as musical director at Buchart Gardens in beautiful Victoria, BC. He is happy to introduce you to the world of vamping and he'll give you the tools to create your own vamp!
